Overview
The INCIGHT scholarship for the 2026–2027 academic year is now accepting applications. All submissions must be completed by April 15, 2026. Apply online.
Since 2004, INCIGHT has awarded more than 1,033 scholarships to students with disabilities who are pursuing postsecondary education. Recipients attend community colleges, four‑year universities, vocational programs, and graduate schools. These scholars are chosen for their dedication to community service and their perseverance in facing personal challenges. Many continue to support and volunteer with INCIGHT after graduation.

ELIGIBILITY — please read all instructions carefully
1. Residency: Applicants must be current residents of Washington, Oregon, or California.
2. Disability: Applicants must have a documented disability as defined by ADA, DSM‑V, IDEA, or another authoritative source. Eligible conditions include, but are not limited to:
- Autism
- Deaf‑blindness
- Deafness
- Developmental delay
- Emotional disturbance
- Hearing impairment
- Intellectual disability
- Multiple disabilities
- Orthopedic impairment
- Other health impairment
- Specific learning disability
- Speech or language impairment
- Traumatic brain injury
- Visual impairment, including blindness
3. Enrollment during the funding cycle following your application: You must be attending an institution of higher education during the applicable funding cycle (2025–26 school year). This includes community college, college, university, vocational or technical school, and may be for any degree level (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, etc.).
4. Verification: You must be enrolled and able to provide enrollment verification to INCIGHT.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What qualifies as a documented disability?
Any condition meeting ADA definitions (see list above). If you receive Social Security benefits under ADA provisions, have a DSM‑V diagnosis, or were eligible for services under IDEA (IEP or 504 plan), you are generally eligible.
2. How do I submit an application?
The INCIGHT scholarship application is available only online. Use the Apply Online link/button.
3. What is the application deadline?
All materials must be submitted by April 15, 2026. Applications must be complete and submitted through the online system by midnight on that date. Applicants are responsible for verifying that their submission is complete.
4. Can current college students apply?
Yes. The scholarship is open to anyone who will be enrolled in higher education (community college, university, graduate school, vocational/technical programs, etc.). This includes graduating high school seniors and adult learners.
5. Is the scholarship national?
No. Eligibility is limited to residents of Oregon, Washington, or California.
6. Do financial need and grades affect selection?
INCIGHT does not use financial need as a criterion. The scholarship recognizes students with disabilities who show exceptional community involvement and a strong desire to pursue higher education. Academic performance is considered but is not the sole determining factor.

8. When will recipients be notified?
Selected applicants will be informed in June 2026.
9. When is the award payment made?
Scholarship funds are disbursed in two installments: half in the Fall and half in the Winter. Payments are made directly to the recipient’s school, not to the student.
10. Is community service required?
Yes. INCIGHT Scholars must complete either 30 hours of community service or volunteer at one INCIGHT event.
11. How much is the award?
The typical award amount is $500. Returning scholars who reapply may be eligible for larger awards.
