Chief Petty Officer Scholarship

Introduction
The Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance to eligible applicants each year. The program includes several scholarship awards in honor of distinguished Sailors and is supported entirely by tax-deductible contributions.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following in the year they submit an application:
- Hold a GED, be a graduating high school senior, be a high school graduate planning to enroll, or be an undergraduate student currently attending an accredited, degree-granting institution of higher education (this includes post-secondary vocational schools).
- Be the dependent child (natural or adopted), stepchild, or a non-uniformed spouse (must be registered in DEERS) of a U.S. Navy Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief Petty Officer who is Active Duty, Reserve, Retired, Honorably Discharged, or deceased.
Important exclusions:
- Applicants who have been awarded a full scholarship to attend a school are not eligible.
- Candidates who have been accepted to military service academies (including the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy), or who are enlisted in the Reserves or serving on Active Duty, are not eligible for these scholarships.
Scholarship Awards
- Two (2) MCPON Scholarships of $5,000 each are awarded annually in honor of MCPON Thomas Crow and co-founder MCPON Robert J. Walker.
- Between twenty (20) and fifty (50) scholarships of $2,000 each are also awarded annually; the exact number awarded depends solely on the financial condition of the fund.
