Overview
The Washington Wine Industry Foundation administers scholarships for students pursuing education tied to Washington’s wine sector — including viticulture, enology, and other wine-related programs. These awards are funded by generous donors who support the long-term success of Washington’s wine community.
Eligible Fields of Study
Applicants should be planning to study one of the following areas:
- Viticulture
- Enology
- Food Science (V&E graduate degree)
- Wine Business Management
- Wine-related Hospitality
- Other wine- or viticulture-related disciplines

Scholarship Qualifications
Each scholarship carries its own set of eligibility rules; some prioritize applicants who meet particular criteria. Information to Gather Before Applying
Before you start your application, collect the following items and details:
- Your cumulative college GPA (if currently enrolled in college)
- Your cumulative high school GPA (if you are not yet in college)
- A list of extracurricular activities, honors, employment, leadership roles, and community service—especially those connected to the wine industry or your intended field of study
- Estimated costs for the 2024–2025 academic year (tuition, books, student fees, room and board, child care)
- An estimate of other sources of funding you expect to receive toward your 2024–2025 expenses
- A 250–300 word essay responding to: How did the home you grew up in shape who you are today? Describe the qualities and attributes developed as a result of where you were raised, and explain how your neighborhood or early environment influenced the person you have become.
